What will it take to save a Bluebell?

I am painting Bluebell – she is a semi-blind Moon Bear rescued from a life of unmentionable cruelty on a Bear Bile Farm

She is now living the deserved life of Riley in a rescue created and funded by the stars at Animals Asia – Moon Bear Rescue Project in Chengdu, China.

Selling prints of this beautiful lady is my way of raising POTS OF MONEY for her and bears like her.

Since the launch date for this fundraiser on 25th May 2011 $190 has been raised and is now safely in the hands of the bear rescuers….more sales are coming in as we speak:) YAY!

To buy her print – which is on super Epson archival paper and will last for over 70 years!  go here and for that I thank you 🙂

Animals Asia has their fabulous website full of  information for you – please take a trip over and see what they are doing today.

Here is Bluebell in progress –

she looks a bit of a mess at this stage but – a few strokes later – et viola!

A stunningly gorgeous voluptuous creature that she is appears on the page:)

Technical stuff for watercolour painters – – –
I used Burnt Umber, Burnt Sienna, Raw Sienna, French Ultramarine, Pthalo Green, Winsor Violet and Alizarin Crimson to paint ger with a 6, 3 and a 00 size round brushes on Saunders Waterford 100% cotton rag 140lbs paper.

  3. My girlfriend bought me a copy of this painting which I now have framed in my lounge. Alison is a very talented and wonderful lady using her artistic gifts for the good of others, particularly these beautiful moon bears.
