A Long Time Coming: New Rustic Watercolours

Finally!

After incubating in a half-finished state for about 2 months I completed a steer and a white chicken this morning!

Such a good feeling to complete them and tie up loose ends.

Original white chicken on 100% cotton rag - 8x10 inches. "Voracious Valerie"

The chicken was particularly difficult for me as I am not very good at painting white animals onto white paper! I hope you feel she looks ok?

Also on the back-burner for about 3 months was this gracious old longhorn steer. Aren’t the horns mad?

I enjoyed the warm colours of this steer and his wise look.

These are currently available to grace your rustic kitchen as prints too if you don’t want originals.

Thanks!

  1. Beautiful!!! I love them both. The blue is a striking and balancing addition to the chicken. You did her justice. The bull looks real. I didn’t think that was possible with watercolor. Well done all around
