New Ideas – Animals in the Landscape

I spent a very restless night last night.Up at 1am and still awake at 5am…with art on my mind.

Over the last few weeks I have been very unsettled and looking to create some art that is really rich and intertwined with the mysteries of nature.

A hare flying through wildflowers in the moonlight...a rough sketch I did today in pencil - 8x10 inches

I wanted a cozy and homely feel where nature rules (as she does despite our best efforts to impede her) and where humans and animals live in an idyllic harmony. I wanted hedgerows and animals and maybe the slightest suggestion of a human hand (eg a cottage roof or windmill – lighthouse etc) in there.

Well after much searching in my mind and pouring through my images and internet ones I feel I have something crystalising – I am so excited!!!

It will be me finding my self on paper. I am a real nester and value security of a home (don’t we all) and so I am looking forward to developing these…

My first one will feature a hare – alliums, undergrowth, fields and moonlit sky….

Alliums and other delicate purple and pink flowers will feature in my first painting

Do you enjoy natural motifs and if so can you tell me about them?
