Gentle Forays into Drawing, Painting and Life.
Join me as I refill my creative well.
We will advance slowly, increasing awareness, developing perception, gathering art skills, deepening artistic vision and pottering along the way.
For those who value stillness, silence and slowness as an antidote to activity, noise and speed.
Here are a selection of images which I did to illustrate the various articles I wrote for this first issue called “Delight” for February 2019.
Here is a summary of the features included:-
- Sicilian Lemons – a languid foray into yellows and their shadows
- Bottlescape Blur – a full step by step pictorial tutorial on watercolour bottles in a vibrant still life
- Productivity Preferences – tips to encourage following your bliss to produce a body of work that is yours alone
- Badger in the Mist – a soulful journey on capturing this humble British stalwart of the meadows using dreamy watercolour washes
- Cinderella’s Coachman – travel with me on my unpredictable path whilst fleshing out the drawings and ideas for an alternative twist on Cinderella.
Also – I invite readers to submit work and to take part in giveaways – so please join us!

Dear readers – do you want to slow down and enjoy creating in a more genteel and relaxed way? Then may I announce today’s publication of my brain-child The Pottering Artist magazine.
Written for myself initially I have crafted it so that it may appeal to others seeking a quieter path in life and who are happy with small things and like to dabble in drawing, painting and other creative things along the way.
