Morrisman Portrait

I have finally finished my watercolour Morrisman and he is making me happy.

The original ref photo had him wearing glasses but I thought that spoiled the rustic look and so left them off.

That meant I was stuck with how to paint an eye which was obliterated by the glasses so to solve that problem I decided to paint his eyes closed!

As I did that he appeared lost in music - in a trance and so I was pleasantly surprised to have him looking very absorbed in his playing!

So - now he is done and for sale on my Artfinder page.

  1. Hi Alison,

I’m planning on getting a wooden frame for the horses. Warm wood to go with the warmth of the picture.

Is there a place where I can look at your cards. I’ve ordered kittens, and Christmas cards in the past. In my recent order, you enclosed a heron.
It’s easier to select when I can see what’s available.
    Thanks, Alison.
    Judy xx

  2. Another beautiful painting, Alison! I received your romantic riders and absolutely love it. Anxious to get it framed and hung. Thanks so much for getting it posted so quickly!!
I’ve always loved your cards. Are they available for purchase?
Thanks, again, Alison for sharing your artistic talents!

    1. Thanks so much Judy! I really enjoyed focusing on this folksy chap!

I am delighted that your horses came in safely and that you love them. When they are in a frame you will see a huge difference. Is it a wood frame you are getting or metal?
I am just wondering which cards you would like? Could you tell me?
Thanks for your comment! Alison x
